POWER-UP 2017: Resiliency, Climate and Energy in Uncertain Times

Presented by Alabama Environmental Council at Birmingham-Southern College

Alabama Environmental Council will host the fifth POWER-UP Forum on February 28, 2017 to continue expanding its energy activities. AEC engages citizens in working toward sustainable policies and opportunities to meet Alabamians’ current energy needs. Our work promotes stewardship of the environment without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

AEC is establishing itself as the go-to resource for information on energy and environment in Alabama. AEC seeks to become the reasonable voice; we promote alternatives instead of fighting the status quo. AEC strongly believes that by promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy as part of Alabama’s energy supply, Alabama can not only meet its current and future energy needs, but also promote stewardship of the environment.

Planning is the backbone of preparing for a sustainable energy future. AEC’s fourth POWER-UP Forum will place a strong emphasis on the importance of transparent, participatory planning processes at the utility, regulatory and state level for meeting Alabama’s electric energy needs.
