YouthServe invites all area youth ages 13-18 to join its youth participants at the Party on the Rotary Trail on Saturday, April 29th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. This end-of-the-school year celebration is the only teen-centered event in Birmingham. The event will include music, pop-up food vendors, live performers and youth dance troupes. The last two years have seen between 300 -400 teens from all backgrounds with more than 60 local middle and high schools represented. Party on the Trail is free and open to the public. Party on the Rotary Trail (formerly Party in the Tunnel) was created by YouthServe participants as a creative way to combat the negative stigma associated with Birmingham (specifically downtown) as it relates to crime and racial tension, showing the Birmingham community that not only is their generation ready to make a change in their community, but also to hold themselves to a higher standard of social consciousness.
