The Birmingham Museum of Art offers a one-of-a-kind camp where children experience amazing art first hand. This year, Summer Art Camp will focus on art that tells stories. Campers will explore the wonderful world of Birmingham artist Frank Fleming, whose fantastical sculptures have endless stories to tell. Campers will also discover the history and meaning found in Hale Woodruff’s murals, whose stories of struggle, action, and equality attract visitors from around the world.
Along the way, we will discover many different cultures and artists who have shared their stories in art through the ages. Campers will experience a summer of fun-filled, hands-on activities and will create visual stories in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, and sculpting. Let storytelling with the visual arts fill your camper’s summer with extraordinary wonder and imagination. It can only happen here at the Birmingham Museum of Art!
