Birmingham, AL Artists Support Local Slam Team to Compete at International Event in San Francisco, California
Four Poets…
A Dope Hip Hop Artist…
A Beast DJ…
Two Great Hosts…
One Mic…
And a GREAT cause…
Yogi Dada, John Paul Taylor, Joi Miner, and Quang Do, all four well-known and admired Birmingham poets and entertainers, will blaze the stage exposing the audience to truth from their points of view on June 30th from 6 to 9 pm at Kanzi, 2817 Central Avenue, Homewood, Alabama. National hip hop artist Lauren Michel is on the ticket along with DJ Mic Militia on the turntables. This art-a-thon supports a team of young Birmingham poets who’ll travel across the country to participate in an upcoming international poetry competition.
What’s the GREAT cause? It’s sending Know Disclaimer, our Birmingham-based youth poetry slam team, to the Brave New Voices (BNV) Youth Speaks International Slam Competition in San Francisco, California, on July 19-22. Know Disclaimer, a project of Real Life Poets, Inc., writes strong and creative poetry with an emphasis on innovative, energetic, and polished presentations.
