The Music Man

Presented by South City Theatre at Pelham High School

The Music Man is family entertainment at its best. Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.

Produced in conjunction with Pelham City Schools and supported by the Pelham City Council, South City proudly presents its first major musical in Pelham at Pelham High School Auditorium (Pelham High School – 2500 Panther Cir, Pelham, Alabama 35124), July 13-16, 2017. Ticket prices are $20 general admission, $15 for students or seniors and $10 for Pelham City School students.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.

Directed by Dianne Rowe. Musical Direction by Emily Hoppe. Choreography by Melissa Bailey.
