Portfolio Development – Summer Course for Teens
July 27 – 31, 2015
9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Are you a serious high school art student who plans to major in art or design in college? Are you a younger student who would like to apply to an art-focused high school? If so, this intensive, one week course will help you build or enhance your portfolio.

This program is for students who will major in visual arts, graphic design, interior design, or architecture. Colleges like to see the progression of a student’s work during their high school careers, so this course is appropriate for all grades of high school. It is also appropriate for younger students who want to present a portfolio when applying to an art-focused high school, or want to create still life sketches as practice for onsite school auditions.

Students will develop strong foundation skills while rendering works from life. Students will also have the experience of peer critiques in progress and after each exercise. Class size is extremely limited to ensure individualized instruction.

This course will be taught by Andy Jordan, graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Students will have the exceptional opportunity of individual portfolio reviews and recommendations to be conducted by Dr. Mary Ann Culotta, former Examiner of Art and Design in the Southeast for the International Baccalaureate Organization.

The cost of the course is $285. A partial supply list will be provided at registration, and a complete supply list will be provided on the first day of class following portfolio reviews. To register by phone or for more information, call Tara Lee at 205-328-0553 ext 24.

Fees are based on a sliding scale. Through the generosity of local foundations and private contributors, families may qualify for free or reduced tuition.
