Girls Rock Bham Volunteer Informational Meeting

Girls Rock Bham Volunteer Informational Meeting

Presented by Girls Rock Bham at Saturn Birmingham

Girls Rock Bham is a non-profit organization for girls ages 9-16. Their summer music camp promotes women empowerment through music and the arts. Throughout the week of camp girls will be placed in groups to form a rock band. They will receive instruction on their chosen instrument, create a song, design a logo, and learn to promote themselves through several creative workshops & demonstrations taught by local professionals. By working with each other in a rock band setting the girls observe first hand the benefits of working as a team while building community & equality awareness.

At the end of the week the girls will perform their songs at the Girls Rock Bham Showcase at Secret Stages. Local celebrity judges will choose a crowd favorite and that band will get the opportunity to record with a Birmingham producer and have their song aired on Birmingham Mountain Radio.

Girls Rock is not just a rock camp; the lessons, skills and connections these girls make and learn will resound in their memories for a lifetime producing more successful, confident women that will rock the future of Birmingham.

If you are interested in volunteering with Girls Rock Bham, join them for a informational meeting at Saturn Birmingham tonight at 6:00 pm
