In this workshop students will be introduced to ways of developing a sketchbook practice. The workshop will aid in the development of visual awareness and memory, compositional possibilities, exploration of media and creative solutions to conceptual challenges. Ultimately the practice aims at assisting students in generating personal themes for art making.  

Lauren Lake is Chair of the Department of Art & Art History at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She received her MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her BA in Art Education at the University of Florida.
