Sister Hazel to Headline Free Festival

JASPER, AL – The City of Jasper, AL will be hosting its annual Foothills Festival with headliner, Sister Hazel. The Foothills Festival is a free music festival in the heart of downtown Jasper, AL. This family friendly event will include numerous national and local music acts.  Hundreds of diverse vendors and artists will be lining the streets, along with a fall carnival, delicious food and drinks. This free event will be held on Friday, September 11 from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. at Courthouse Square in downtown Jasper, AL.

Sister Hazel is living the dream. Originating from Gainesville, FL, Sister Hazel is comprised of five gifted, seasoned musicians whose well-spring of natural talent has been called “one of the Top 100 Most Influential Independent Performers of the last 15 years” by Performing Songwriter Magazine.  In the 20+ years that they have been recording and performing as a band, they have accomplished something that for most artists is only a dream.  They have built a career with a solid foundation, seemingly impenetrable by the shifting sands of the record industry, with hits such as All for You, Change Your Mind and Champagne High.

Festival attendees can also hear music from Shooter Jennings & Waymore’s Outlaws. Shooter Jennings, is an outlaw musician.  In a world where musicians homogenize music to such a degree, Mr. Jennings is unafraid to pioneer his own sound. He is, after all, the son of Jessi Colter and the original outlaw musician, the late Waylon Jennings.  His distinct sound and divergent musical tastes translate into live shows — with Waymore’s Outlaws, the elder Jennings’ former touring and recording band. Other artists performing at the 2015 Foothills Festival include: popular roots-rock songwriter and performer, Paul Thorn, a colorful and distinctly Southern personality; Marc Broussard, an artist with a unique gift of channeling the multiple spirits of classic R&B and soul into contemporary terms; with a John Denver grin and mind full of Alabama attitude, Adam Hood (Northport, AL native) knows the beautiful mess of blue-collar love and everyone on Music Row wants in; Los Angeles based, Georgia raised David Ryan Harris’ style incorporates elements of rock, rhythm and blues, and folk, paired with a soulful voice, and masterful guitar work.; singer/songwriter extraordinaire Bonnie Bishop & The Modern Prophets are back by popular demand after their stellar performance at last year’s festival; Love & Chaos is the new duo from TX singer-songwriters & long-time collaborators, AJ Vallejo & Kendall Beard; and, other local acts chosen during summer competition concert series, Path to the Foothills (July 18 & August 15).

The City of Jasper is able to provide this festival free to the public with the support of their 2015 Foothills Festival partners: Pepsi (Local Stage Sponsor); Desperation Church (Fall Carnival Sponsor; Premier Partners – Honda of Jasper, Hyundai of Jasper, Jasper Orthodontics, Byars & Wright, Daily Mountain Eagle, Birmingham Budweiser and King, Wiley & Williams; and, Supporting Partners – Alabama Power, Carl Cannon Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC, Downs & Associates CPA, LLC, First Bank of Jasper, Fontaine PartSource, Hager Oil and Jasper Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
