Our September CAT CABARET stars Birmingham’s own THE DILL PICKERS!  The Dill Pickers will be coming out of retirement to performe in Birmingham maybe for the last time?  You’ll hear the songs and humor that audiences have grown to love in the Magic City!

Norton Dill gathered The Dill Pickers in 1999 as the cast of Birmingham’s first production of the Off-Broadway musical, Smoke On The Mountain. Even though most of the cast members had performed together in other local shows, Smoke was their first gathering as an ensemble performing group. After the success of Smoke, there was the sequel, Sanders Family Christmas. Both of these shows were performed several times at different theaters around the Birmingham area. 
After several years of performing these two shows the group felt that it was time for something new. A new musical was written by Norton Dill. Once again, the group took on the challenge of being actors and the band. But this time another twist was thrown in….each member of the cast played four different characters.
Without ever promoting the idea of doing non-theatrical shows, the group started getting invitations to perform music for various gatherings around the state. It became obvious that a name was needed and, after trying a long list of possibilities, the group finally chose the name, The Dill Pickers. The group is part Blue Grass show band, part storytellers and full-on family entertainment!

CAT CABARET is a cool & cozy performance where once a month the audience can enjoy a soft drink, a glass of wine along with some of their favorite performers as they serenade us with their favorite songs in an intimate listening room with perfect sound and sight lines. Modeled after today’s wildly popular cabarets of New York City like 54 BELOW and the METROPOLITAN ROOM, CAT CABARET is a place to unwind and celebrate the music that is timeless and sophisticated.  CAT CABARET aims to be a hangout for Birmingham’s Broadway Babies and the fans who love them!
