Admit it. We all have an old favorite shirt or pair of shorts that we just can’t get rid of that would be perfect for this race. In an attempt to liven up a hot summer night, the annual Trak Shak Retro Run 5K  is a fun, family event in the middle of downtown Homewood! Runners get to enjoy Jim N Nicks tacos, refreshments from Birmingham Budweiser and Birmingham Coca-Cola, and music from DJ Chappy!

The Trak Shak Retro Run 5K will start at 7 PM! This is a chip timed event. Awards will be given to the top 3 in each age group, top three overall male & female, and top master male & female. Each participant will receive a shirt, packet and meal ticket and are automatically entered for the Retro Run Costume contest.

New for 2015, the Two-A-Day Challenge! If you participate in both the Just A Call Away 5K and the Retro Run 5K, you are automatically entered in this age and gender graded challenge. Results from each race will be tallied using the latest USATF Age Grading system. Age and gender grading levels the playing field a bit, so you’re a younger or older, weekend racer, you’ve got a good chance to win! The fastest, overall, combined result wins $200 CASH! Winner will be announced after the Retro Run 5K awards!

The costume contest will take place right after the age group awards are given. Participants will be randomly selected by a contest committee. Once your number is called, join us with the DJ to show off your dance skills and win the crowd’s favor! The winners are chosen by the crowd’s roar! The winner of the Retro Run costume contest will win $100 gift card to The Trak Shak and $100 CASH!
