A 1920’s themed casino night with proceeds benefitting Healthy Happy Kids, the MHRC’s childhood obesity intervention program.
On September 23rd, The Harbert Center will be transformed into a 1920’s casino with good food & drinks, great music, gaming fun, and chances to win great prizes. Proceeds from Harlem in the ‘Ham will benefit Healthy Happy Kids, the MHRC’s childhood obesity intervention. Since the first Casino Royale in 2009, more than 2,500 young professionals, business and community leaders have raised more than $210,000 to help children learn healthy living skills.
The event is open to the public. Great Gatsby costumes or cocktail attire is encouraged. Doors open at 7 pm. Tickets may be purchased below. Ticket price includes food, entertainment, and play money for the gaming tables. At the end of the night, play money is exchanged for chances to win prizes. VIPs receive special treatment in the VIP area.

The money raised during Harlem in ‘the Ham will support Healthy Happy Kids, a program developed by the MHRC to help prevent and reverse unhealthy weight gain in children. This handson six session curiculum features information on good nutrition, the food groups, balancing calories, and physical activity. (JAB nutritionists and exercise physiologists lead the sessions, a mix of lively questions and answers and fun activities, done in partnership with (JAB MHRC staff and volunteers from the Young Professionals Board.
