SPARK@SLOSS is a Birmingham Mayoral Initiative to create a master plan funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to explore the development of a world class multi-disciplinary arts and tech master residency hub at Sloss Furnaces.
This is the first of six lecture/workshops where artists and the public can participate in the development of the master plan concept.
Learn about and discuss creative placemaking and the possibilities of developing an artist residency and workforce development program at Sloss Furnaces. There will be short lectures from experts in fire arts, industrial design, performance arts and new media. Following the lectures there will be a discussion with local creative leaders, artists and the audience about the transformational possibilities of a world class arts tech hub in Birmingham.
