The chip timed 5K, organized by The Trak Shak, will begin at 8:00 am with the 1 Mile Fun Run following at 9:00 am. The race course will begin and end at Vestavia Hills City Hall.  The Storybook 5K and Fun Run is a fundraiser for the Children’s Department of the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest.  New this year is the 5K sleep in option for those who do not want to participate but would like to support the event and receive a t-shirt and swag bag.

This all ages event will be fun for the entire family as well as all members of our community and the greater Birmingham area. Children are encouraged to dress up as their favorite storybook character.  There will be post-race food, refreshments, and fun family entertainment, including: live music, a bouncy house, appearances by storybook characters and performers from Birmingham Ballet’s upcoming The Nutcracker and Peter Pan ballets, crafts, and face painting by Pinky Fancy Faces. Registration for the race is available at https://runsignup.com/Race/AL/VestaviaHills/2017Storybook5KandFunRun.
