Alabama Butterbean Festival

Alabama Butterbean Festival

Presented by The City of Pinson at City of Pinson

A butterbean? A lima? Whatever you prefer, we call it delicious and celebrate its’ creation in a big way! One of the largest festivals in the South, the Alabama Butterbean Festival will celebrate its 12th year in less than a month. Celebrate with us on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7.

The Alabama Butterbean Festival brings families from around the state to the Pinson area to celebrate the delicious legume that we in the South call a butterbean. There will be many opportunities to try this downhome delicacy at Pinson’s Main Street.
The free festival also features the World Record Holding Butterbean Pot, set in 2010 for the largest pot of baked beans (1,010.65 gallons)! Be on the lookout for the official mascot, Bucky Butterbean, as he strolls through the festival posing for pictures and greeting attendees.
The small-town charm of Pinson’s Main Street will be packed with more than 150 arts and crafts vendors and various traditional and non-traditional fair food vendors. Special events to include a massive fireworks show, 5k and 1-mile fun run, musical acts, antique car show and a dog show. In addition, there will be carnival rides, fair food, a petting zoo, and pony rides.
