Kuumba with me.

Kuumba is the Swahili word for creativity. More specifically, it means using creativity to do all we can to make the world a better place. At its heart, the Kuumba Community Arts Teen Design Academy is founded on this principle.

We are seeking freshman and sophomore students from the Birmingham metro area to apply for the 2018 Teen Design Academy. To apply, come join us at UAB on October 21 at 12:30 PM to participate in a Design Scramble Workshop. Workshop participants will engage in a series of group and individual activities to show how they would choose to visually communicate words and ideas. Design professionals from Alabama Media Group, local agencies Cayenne Creative and The Modern Brand, and the freelance community will be on hand to provide guidance. No experience or knowledge of graphic design is required.
