“Coalesce” an art exhibit by Joseph and Misty Bennett, Professors of Art at the University of Montevallo.  Joe and Misty have worked collaboratively since 2012, sharing an interest in abstraction, approaching it from different but complimentary points of view.  The works in this exhibit are the product of a process wherein on artist begins a drawing, then hands it to the other, continuing until both agree there is nothing more to add.  The “reactionary and spontaneous way of working leads to a sense of discovery and a deeper understanding of self for each artist.”  Each piece “has its own dialog, narrative and stopping point.”  Opening reception September 13, 12:30 – 2:30 pm.
