M-POWER Ministries will host Taste Live!, its newest event, on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 5:30 p.m. The event will feature more than 30 culinary experts and restaurants from the Birmingham-area at BridgeStreet Gallery & Loft. Current participating restaurants include B&A Warehouse, Five, Happy Catering, Jim N’ Nicks, Southern Kitchen and more. The event includes live music and craft beer samples from Avondale Brewing Company. A small silent auction will also be at the event for guests to bid on private cooking lessons with local chefs, restaurant gift cards, vacation rentals and more. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased online. This event, presented by ProAssurance, invites Birmingham residents to enjoy a taste of the Magic City while giving back to the community and supporting the efforts of M-POWER Ministries, a nonprofit located in Avondale helping to break the cycle of poverty by providing education and health services to Jefferson County residents. The Taste of the Magic City is a four day event that will take place Monday, Oct. 19 through Thursday, Oct. 22. The four events include: Restaurant Give-Back Day, a Farm to Table Experience at Little Savannah, an Italian Wine Dinner at Silvertron Café and finally, Taste Live!, where guests can sample culinary creations from some of Birmingham’s best restaurants.
