Yonder Contemporary Dance Company is proud to present their new show titled IRL. Their southeastern tour includes performance dates in Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Florence, Ala. as well as Nashville, Tenn. and Atlanta, Ga. This regional tour is happening in support of their week-long residency in Edinburgh, Scotland at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Aug. 2018. The Fringe is the largest performing arts festival in the world with more than 50,000 performances spanning 300+ venues.

IRL addresses the uncomfortable realities of the mental and emotional pollutants we allow to spill out of the digital world into the real one. Seven choreographers and sixteen dancers from the Department of Theatre and Dance at The University of Alabama are collaborating with composers from the School of Music as well as a promotions team from the Department of Advertising and Public Relations to develop the 50-minute concert. IRL illuminates the jarring battle between everyone and everything that competes for our attention, hijacking our headspace and impacting human nature.
