WHAT: Johnsonville is turning up the heat by hosting a firehouse cook-off in Birmingham. The challenge will feature a pair of local firehouses competing for the title of best chili or stew recipe. The competing stations, Station 4 and Station 14, will create and cook their own chili or stew recipe featuring Johnsonville Sausage and a seasonal vegetable. The recipes will be judged by event attendees who will all receive free food samples. The winning firehouse will receive a special Johnsonville trophy. WHY: Johnsonville wants to bring the community together for a fun event as a way of honoring Birmingham’s dedicated firefighters. Johnsonville is donating $5,000 to the Birmingham fire department to show support and appreciation for their hard work in the community.
