If you’re age 55 and better and have no experience in the arts, or if you do have past experience but want to enhance your skills or explore a new medium, Art in the Making is for you! Classes are offered in Space One Eleven’s 2D and pottery studios and culminate with art exhibitions.

Learn the basic clay handbuilding, wheel throwing, and sculptural construction techniques in Introduction to Clay! Over the course of eight weeks  build on beginning skills, being able to use clay as a useful tool to create things you envision depending on your interests. The ability to explore the different ways to create with clay will allow a broad range of skill sets to be spotlighted. You may take to the wheel, enjoy the whimsy and manipulation of small sculptures, or you may be interested in the process of firing or the history of this ancient art form.
