On November 7 & 8, 2015, grab friends and family and get outside to the Moss Rock Festival at The Preserve in Hoover. Explore Nature, Eco Ideas, Art + Design at Alabama’s premier eco-creative festival now in its 10th year. Innovation, imagination, and fun await 15,000 visitors under a blanket of fall colors at this idyllic neighborhood setting adjacent to Hoover’s own 350 acre Moss Rock Preserve. MRF features something for everyone. Festivities include: ARTIST ROW: Juried Artists in all media and at all price points will be showcasing thousands of Works of Art primarily inspired by or depicting nature and/or made from recycled or natural materials. ECO IDEAS and +DESIGN: This outdoor district intermingled amongst artist booths is full of innovation, imagination, sustainability, and green living ideas and will serve as an informative and cool connection to various eco-friendly living ideas, products, businesses and organizations making strides in the green movement. Get answers by asking the experts.  SmartLIVING: this market offers access to access to fresh, organic, and locally made products, plus interesting choices for everyday living. MOSS ROCK PRESERVE: patrons can participate in a fun geo-location game or take a guided hike in the 350 acre Moss Rock Preserve. Get moving on miles of trails that will entice visitors to explore and appreciate nature. CAFE BY THE WOODS: the perfect place to get great eats, drinks & treats at the show including the 2015 features — Big Spoon Creamery, Cantina On Wheels, Full Moon BBQ, Greek Tavern, Karen’s Candy Kitchen, Melt Food Truck, Rae Rae’s Catering, Saw’s Street Kitchen, Steel City Pops, Tea Town Alabama, Yarbrough Festival Food Service. BEER GARDEN – a craft beer tasting. If tastings are your thing, Beer Garden (ticketed) will connect visitors to the liquid crafts of burgeoning Alabama breweries with select wines being added into the mix again in 2015 alongside tasty bites like housemade meatballs from Vecchia and sauerkraut balls from The J. WONDERKID ART STUDIOS: interactive art projects for the kids using nature as a launching point for creative projects – the WOW variety! These engaging, educational and creative projects will keep all ages having fun making art and appreciating our planet at the same time. THE SWEETERY  – The former Nature of Cakes expo and tasting morphed into The Sweetery last year and was a big hit! We will gather visitors in the Town Hall again for a diverse and sweet display of baked goodies to sample, or take home from our features. PLANET PROJECTS – “ENDANGERED SPECIES” – a classroom project for creative recycling: The sculpture project will will encourage students to explore the diverse species and habitats of endanger animals, the cause for their threat, what they do in nature, and how they differ from each other. The animal sculptures should be constructed by upcycling/repurposing/recycling man-made materials or natural materials while also being creative in use of materials in their interpretive designs. The project will culminate with an exhibition of student sculptures at the festival. Participating Schools: Bluff Park Elementary, Brock’s Gap Intermediate, Brookwood Forest Elementary, Deer Valley Elementary, Hueytown High School, and Simmons Middle School. ECO-DRIVE: Eco design and function are on display at the festival’s Eco:Drive. See and learn about the latest fuel efficient cars that will save you money at the pump. This year, we are featuring Tameron Hyundai and Tameron Honda. Take a test drive this year, and experience them on the road. Sign up at their tent directly off of the shuttle — before you get to the Festival Info tent. SMART STAGE: be on the lookout for the festival’s NEW Demo Stage spotlighting fun, informative micro bursts of programming and demos about a variety of engaging topics from cooking to home energy efficiency to craft brewing to outdoor expeditions and more. ROCK CLIMBING WALL & FLY FISHING WORKSHOP

All visitors will Park & Ride from the Hoover Met, located off of Hwy 150 and Stadium Trace Pkwy. For detailed directions to Regions Park, please visit MossRockFestival.com and click the “About” menu heading link.

FREE SHUTTLE – SCHEDULE
It’s quick & easy. Only a short 5 minute ride. Shuttles will run regularly from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and 9:30am to 5:00pm. The site will be blocked to thru traffic except for home owners & their guests.

DROP OFF & PICK UP POLICY 
Drop off & Pick-ups may be made on Preserve Parkway. To keep this area from getting congested during the festival, we ask that all visitors take the free shuttle from the Hoover Met and leave this courtesy for visitors with special needs: elderly, large art purchases, handicapped, large strollers, or other special circumstances.

HANDICAPPED PARKING
There are a handful of designated handicapped spots on Preserve Pkwy at the top of The Village Green.

BLOCKED STREETS
The following streets in The Preserve neighborhood will be closed to thru traffic for MRF weekend – Preserve Drive, Village Green Circle, and Village Green Way
