Registration is now open for Art in the Making Introduction to Painting, taught by artist Jürgen Tarrasch (jurgentarrasch.com). This class will focus on the basics of painting. In this course, participants will use oil and acrylic paints to explore different techniques while practicing traditional methods such as still life paintings as well as abstract painting.

Art in the Making is Space One Eleven’s art program for adults age 55 and better. If you have no experience in the arts, or if you do have past experience but want to enhance your skills or explore a new medium, Art in the Making is for you! Classes are offered in Space One Eleven’s professional artist studios and culminate with art exhibitions.

• Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 31 – August 23, 2018 (8 classes total)
• Time: 4 – 6pm
• Cost: $240 and includes all materials. Participants on a limited budget may qualify for free or reduced tuition.
• Location: Space One Eleven Art Center, 2409 2nd Avenue North, Downtown Birmingham.
