Samford University ushers in the Christmas season each year with the Old English custom, Hanging of the Green. Begun in 1980 by Ginny Bridges Ireland, Director of Campus Ministries, the service is fashioned after the traditional Lessons and Carols Service of Kings College, Cambridge, UK. This beautiful and joyous service features music from the School of the Arts while selected Senior honorees lead the congregation in the celebration of Christmas.
