Tuesday, January 12 @ 10:00 am – Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff
Fates and Furies is a literary masterpiece that defies expectation. A dazzling examination of a marriage, it is also a portrait of creative partnership written by one of the best writers of her generation.

Tuesday, February 2 @ 10:00 am – The Witches: Salem, 1692 by Stacy Schiff
It began in 1692, over an exceptionally raw Massachusetts winter, when a minster’s daughter began to scream and convulse. It ended less than a year later, but not before 19 men and women had been hanged and an elderly man crushed to death. As psychologically thrilling as it is historically seminal, The Witches is Stacy Schiff’s account of this fantastical story–the first great American mystery unveiled fully for the first time by one of our most acclaimed historians.

Tuesday, March 8 @ 10:00 am –  The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Dovekeepers and The Museum of Extraordinary Things: a forbidden love story set on the tropical island of St. Thomas about the extraordinary woman who gave birth to painter Camille Pissarro–the Father of Impressionism.

Tuesday, April 12 @ 10:00 am – Author Study (TBD)
The Bookies will select an author and participants may select any book from that writer’s body of work.

Tuesday, May 10 @ 10:00 am – A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
In rich and resplendent prose, Yanagihara has fashioned a tragic and transcendent hymn to brotherly love, a masterful depiction of heartbreak, and a dark examination of the tyranny of memory and the limits of human endurance.

Tuesday, June 14 @ 10:00 am – Sisters in Law: How Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg Went to the Supreme Court and Changed the World by Linda Hirshman
The author of the celebrated Victory tells the fascination story of the intertwined lives of Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the first and second women to serve as Supreme Court justices. Sisters in Law combines legal detail with warm personal anecdotes that bring these very different women into focus as never before. Meticulously researched and compellingly told, it is an authoritative account of our changing law and culture, and a moving story of a remarkable friendship.
