CELEBRATE NATIONAL BIRD DAY! Why are birds important? What birds are found in our area? How do you attract birds to your yard? Come to OMSP for a day filled with birds!!

-OMSP’s Naturalist will take you on a tour of the Treetop Nature Trail Birds of Prey followed with a birding hike up to the Alabama Wildlife Center.

– Once we reach the center, you will get a chance to be an ornithologist for the day! We will watch and count birds at the feeders and record our observations on eBird so scientist can keep track of birds in our area!

-Meet one of the Avian Rehabilitators at the AWC and learn how avian rehabilitation works. Get a chance to meet and learn about AWC’s Eurasian Eagle Owl and Bald Eagle! *You will have a chance to “Adopt a Bird” at the Alabama Wildlife Center to help support their care while in rehab!*

-We will conclude the day by making a take-home Pinecone Bird Feeder at the Oak Mountain Interpretive Center!

  • $2 per Child (age 4 to 11)
  • $2 per Senior (age 62+)
  • Free for ages 3 & under

This is a family friendly event! Dress appropriately for the weather.
No strollers on the trail. Dogs are not allowed at this event.
