What is it?
PRIMETIME Family Reading Time is a unique humanities-based and family-focused program proven to help children succeed academically and bond families around reading. Weekly storytelling, reading and discussion sessions featuring award-winning children's books are conducted by scholars and storytellers.
The award winning children's books introduce fairy tales and folk tales from around the world, stories about problems children encounter, and tales from history.
What does it do?
PRIMETIME….
Reinforces the role of the family.
Bonds parents and children around the act of reading.
Encourages parents and children to read and discuss humanities topics (history, literature, and ethical issues, such as fairness, greed, honor, and trickery) fostering high academic expectations and achievement.
Helps parents and children learn how to select books and become active users of library resources.
"FREE" Registration Required. Dinner served each night. Weekly attendance required for 6 weeks.
