The annual celebration of Black Heritage by the BIRMINGHAM AFRICAN AMERICAN GENEALOGY GROUP will be presented on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10 am – at the downtown Birmingham Public Library, Linn Henley Building, 4th floor Auditorium.
In conjunction with the Bi-Centennial Celebration of Alabama 200 and the slavery exhibit, Born a Slave – Died Free, The Birmingham African American Genealogy Group presents its annual Black Heritage Fair, celebrating 20 years of recognizing the contributions and achievements of Black Americans with a focus on THE GREAT MIGRATION NORTH AND WEST.
The 2019 Black Heritage Fair will have on display from BAAGG members, family history and other items related to the great migration. Also, on display will be art and quilts. In addition there will be speakers discussing the significance of the great migration to the growth of the African American community and the country.
Please join us on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 10 am (registration) to 4 pm in The Linn Henley Building, 4th floor auditorium across the street from the downtown Birmingham Public Library, 2100 Park Place. Event is free and open to the public.
