The UAB Department of Music presents a faculty recital featuring Kristine Hurst-Wajszczuk, soprano, Yakov Kasman, piano, and Denise Gainey, clarinet.

The recital is at 4 p.m., in UAB’s Alys Stephens Center, Reynolds-Kirschbaum Recital Hall. This recital explores “Seasons,” both of the year and of life. The recital includes the music of Argento, Schubert, Mozart, Brahms, Vaughan Williams, both Gustav and Alma Mahler, Robert Schumann, Wolf, and Hahn. Also featured are living composers Jake Heggie, Eric Funk and Lori Laitman. Gainey and Hurst-Wajszczuk will perform three songs from Laitman’s cycle, “Living in the Body,” which appears on their forthcoming CD. Free.
