Crews of 20-paddlers compete in 46′ long authentic dragon boats on the Coosa River. Dragon boat races, drummer’s parade, food vendors and kid’s activities highlight this day of family fun and team-building sport on Sat. Aug. 17, 2019 in Gadsden, AL.
Teams and spectators love this sport. The thrill of teamwork and adrenaline pumping interaction in the boat – everything that brings an exhilarating challenge to a team of 24 paddlers. The 8th Annual Habitat Dragon Boat Festival on the Coosa River in Gadsden, AL will benefit the work of Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity in Etowah County. The mission of this non-profit organization is to build simple, decent and affordable houses for those living in substandard housing.
