Saturdays in The Gardens are a series of programs designed to help both novice and seasoned gardeners alike hone their skills in a hands-on setting, focusing on basic gardening skills and trends. Programs will be held monthly with an in-classroom lesson then participants will complete a related service project in The gardens. Programs will be presented by the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens and led by local experts.
March: Build a Compost Bin and Build your Soil!
Peggy and William Cureton of Captain Compost will cover all the benefits compost can bring your soil along with how to get started making your own compost at home. Participants will work with experts to build a compost bin for the Arrington Plant Adventure Zone.
