Birdwatching is a hobby everyone in the family can enjoy! With spring upon us there is no better time to hone your bird identification skills while exploring The Gardens and learning about the many birds around us! eBird is a powerful tool developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology that allows users to keep a list of the birds they’ve seen while at the same time helping researchers studying bird population dynamics. This class will consist of a bird walk through The Gardens (1-1.5 hours) where we’ll teach participants to identify birds by their field marks and songs, after which we will return to the classroom to teach users how to log their sightings into the eBird database. This spring outing in The Gardens is good for the whole family and science, too!
