Outdoor Alabama Experience - Connecting Families to the Outdoors

Outdoor Alabama Experience - Connecting Families to the Outdoors

Presented by Oak Mountain State Park at Oak Mountain State Park

Outdoor Alabama Experience is a weekend workshop full of opportunities to learn about many of the great ways your family can enjoy Alabama’s beautiful outdoors! The program is designed for families, and all experience levels are welcomed! A program hosted by the Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries and State Parks Divisions of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the workshop features hands-on learning about camping, hiking, biking, wildlife watching, shooting sports, fishing, hunting, kayaking, and more! The program is held in the spring and fall at various State Park locations across the state, and courses taught may vary based on location. Families will be able to choose the classes that are  most interesting to them, and will leave with the confidence and information needed to continue enjoying those activities in Alabama’s great outdoors!

Workshop participants will receive a camping discount in the park hosting the event. Whether your family are experienced campers or completely brand new to the idea, we have you covered! Experienced staff will be available to help with campsite setup and any questions you may have. You may also choose to stay in other park (or outside) acommodations of your choice based on availability.
