Red Dot Gallery announces the return of their popular kid art classes taught by local artist Annabelle DeCamillis.
Instructor Annabelle DeCamillis completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at UAB and is back to teach young artists to stretch their talents and skills.
Annabelle has won numerous national awards for her paintings, including the prestigious Young Arts Prize and the Scholastic Art and Writing Award. She has taught classes and workshops to children and adults at various venues, and her work has been exhibited in galleries at the Miami Museum of Art, The Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall in NY, and The Department of Education in DC.
Kid class projects balance development of academic rendering skill with fun craft projects. In addition to sketching practice, we use mediums such as pastels, acrylic paint, watercolor, pencil drawing, oil pastels, clay, collage, scratch board, and found object constructions.
Class for 8 to 12 year olds is held Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30, and class for 13 to 18 year olds will be on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30. For more information, check out reddotgallery.com.
