Saturdays in The Gardens are a series of programs designed to help both novice and seasoned gardeners alike hone their skills in a hands-on setting, focusing on basic gardening skills and trends. Programs will be held monthly with an in-classroom lesson then participants will complete a related service project in The gardens. Programs will be presented by the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens and led by local experts.

Jay Draper of SHOPPE will cover what types of plants are best suited for containers, as well as some fresh ways of using containers together, incorporating them into your garden designs, and transitioning them from season to season. Participants will work with the experts to create a seasonal container display in the Thompson Enthusiast’s Garden
