Tea and Sympathy by Robert Anderson

Tea and Sympathy by Robert Anderson

Presented by Birmingham Festival Theatre at Birmingham Festival Theatre

From the author of I Never Sang for My Father, this groundbreaking drama explores a sensitive young man’s coming of age amid the taunts and suspicions of his classmates and teachers at a private boy’s academy. Only a sympathetic act of compassion by the wife of the headmaster gives young Tom the courage to grow into a man. A hit onstage and film with Deborah Kerr.

Starring Leah Luker, Brooke Wood, Blake Tanner, Nathan Merritt, Brady Grimm, Chance Novalis, Mark Nelson, Josh Roberts, Jason Cox, David Seale, Judd McCluney (understudy for David Harris on the first Saturday) and Rachael Pike (understudy for Lilly Sears for the Sunday matinee, 2nd weekend).

Performance dates are May 30 through June 15th (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, one Sunday matinee on June 9 ). Opening night will have a reception immediately following the performance. The second Thursday night (June 6) is pay-what-you-can-afford.
