BAAGG is dedicated to the promotion and teaching of genealogy and family history research.
Please join us for an informative cultural lecture/discussion on the playwright August Wilson. Led by Kel Laeger, the group will explore Wilson’s family ties to Alabama and the Alabama ties of many of his characters from his collection of 20th century plays also call The Pittsburgh Play Cycle.
To prepare for July’s meeting, attendees are encouraged to read Wilson’s play GEM OF THE OCEAN. The concept of ancestry and family identity is an important factor in many of August Wilson’s plays and for July’s meeting we will celebrate the Black family through Wilson’s characters and plays.
