Flag Retirement Ceremony

In partnership with the 313th Army Band Unit and Boy Scout Troop 86 Green, Vulcan Park and Museum will hold a flag retirement ceremony on June 14 at 3p.m. The ceremony is free and open to the public. It will be held at the base of the flagpole at Vulcan Park and Museum on Friday, June 14 beginning at 3 p.m. Members of the community who bring their worn flags to the park on June 14 will receive free admission to the museum and the observation tower.
Flags will be collected all day at the Vulcan Center Museum from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. then will be donated for proper disposal. The goal of a flag retirement ceremony is to promote American heritage and provide a community service by honorably folding and disposing of worn United States flags.
