Welcome to the first ever Forte Music Festival: A Celebration of Sound Supporting Scrollworks! The festival is a concert featuring local musicians and a silent auction that will take place at Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on April 2, 2016.

All proceeds from the festival will help provide musical instruction, instruments, lesson books, and instrument maintenance for low income, special needs, and at risk youth.

Your ticket includes food and drinks from local restaurants, access to silent auction items from local and national businesses, and entertainment by 6 local bands!

Metropolitan Youth Orchestras of Central Alabama (MYOCA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to making music instruction and ensemble playing available to all, thereby developing character and sense of community. 

We offer opportunities tailored for the performance level and maturity of musicians ages 6 to 18, including group lessons on orchestral instruments and piano offered through our Scrollworks program and a youth orchestra.

Young people of diverse racial, social, cultural, and economic backgrounds are encouraged to explore and cultivate their musical talent and contribute to Alabama’s musical culture.

Our progressive music education programs are staffed by accomplished musicians with real-world experience. Students receive broad exposure to classical, jazz, world music and other genres.
