Theatre Downtown presents the Alabama premier of the Del Shores dramedy Yellow Aug. 1-18
The dramedy play Yellow, created by Sordid Lives and Southern Baptist Sissies playwright Del Shores, makes its Alabama debut at Theatre Downtown. Yellow centers on a year in the life of a “seemingly perfect” Mississippi family. All is golden with the Westmorelands until tragedy and secrets revealed make for a tumultuous turn of events.
Yellow brings laughter, tears and teaches about acceptance as well as forgiveness. The show originally debuted in Los Angeles 2010, produced by Birmingham’s Louise Beard. Rhonda Erbrick directs the Theatre Downtown production, opening Thursday, Aug. 1.
Yellow runs Aug. 1-18 at Theatre Downtown — Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 8:00 pm with a Sunday matinee 2:00 pm Aug. 18.
