Tech & Technique Workshop: Screenwriting 101

Presented by Sidewalk Film Festival + Center at Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema

Learn the basics of Screenwriting with Dan Goforth. Dan Goforth is a member of the WGA and an award-winning screenwriter. Since 2013, he has been a columnist for SCRIPT magazine, the leading source for information on the craft and business of writing for film and television. He recently had a film produced and released by Netflix, “Walk. Ride. Rodeo.”. Other screenplay assignments include the adaptation of NY Times bestselling author Col. Walter J. Boyne’s novel, “Dawn Over Kitty Hawk”,the untold tale behind the race to develop the first airplane, as well as the screenplay adaptation of “The Chronic Argonauts” from the sci-fi graphic novel from New Baby Productions, publishers of “The Elemental Fources” series.

Class size is limited – once it’s full, it’s full! This class is ideal for participants ages 12 and up. Any questions can be directed to kiwi@sidewalkfest.com.

This workshop will take place over 5 sessions:

Session 1 – October 7th, 6:30pm-8:30pm – Intro to Story Structure
Session 2 – October 14th, 6:30pm-8:30pm – Formatting Basics
Session 3 – October 21st, 6:30pm-8:30pm – Characters and Dialogue
Session 4 – October 28th, 6:30pm-8:30pm – Revising
Session 5 – November 4th, 6:30pm-8:30pm – Business of Screenwriting

Workshop will take place at the Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema in our classroom space.
