Join us for Bards, Brews, and Haiku on March 4th at the downtown library. Its an Open Mic event but there will be some haiku poets on hand for the event including Terri French from Huntsville and Laurence Stacey from Atlanta. There will be sake tasting along with beer from Band of Brothers. Katie Lott will be performing some musical selections beginning at 6:30  and Voice Porter will take over the mic at 7:00 to emcee an evening of poetry and haiku!

Twitter Haiku Contest
The Birmingham Public Library is partnering with the Japan America Society of Alabama (JASA) and the Southeast Chapter of the Haiku Society of America (HSA) to sponsor a Twitter haiku contest as part of the annual Sakura Festival, the primary event of which will take place at the Japanese Gardens at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on Saturday, March 19, 2016.
