Pop-Up Art Show with Caren Matukas, Joyce Hudson, Danielle Elizabeth

Presented by Studio By the Tracks at Studio By The Tracks

Studio By The Tracks likes to show support to artists in our community who have donated their works to their annual Art From The Heart art auction benefit by hosting them at the studio for pop-up art sales, and this time around, they’re featuring local artists Caren Matukas, Joyce Hudson, and Danielle Elizabeth!

Caren Matukas creates one of a kind stuffed animals! She sews them from pre-loved wool and cashmere sweaters and stuffs them with a biodegradable eco-filling made from corn. She so loved her stuffed animals growing up, so the thought that any of her little woolly creatures can become a child’s dearest companion is thrilling to her! As it says on the tag… “ready for love!”

For several years Joyce Hudson has been soaking, steaming and simmering scarves made of hemp/silk and wool gauze. Rolled with leaves and blossoms onto a stick or piece of copper pipe, and tied tightly, they’ve received layers of mordant, natural dye, and modifiers. Unrolled, left alone to age, then re-rolled for another compost-like process, over time the results echo the forest floor, earth’s crust or spring petals falling on winter’s lawn.

Danielle Elizabeth has in recent months discovered her love for working with clay, and this is the first time her ceramic works will be available for purchase. Her plant impression pendant necklaces make beautiful gifts, and she’ll also be selling a variety of homegrown plants in one of kind ceramic pots!

Come by and show these talented artists some love! The Studio Store, Studio By The Tracks‘ gallery for artists on the Autism spectrum, will also be open for your shopping enjoyment! SBTT artists receive 60% of all sales of their artwork.
