Korean Voices: Won Cho, Kyung Cho, and Eun-Hee Park

Presented by University of Montevallo College of Fine Arts at LeBaron Recital Hall - University of Montevallo, Davis Hall

A lecture-recital on development of Korean art songs with Won Cho & Kyung Cho, voice, and Eun-Hee Park, piano.
Korean Art songs juxtapose traditional Korean musical elements within the structure of Western music, making them a unique, exemplary musical tradition. As a result, this body of work demonstrates a cultural and musical hybridity and makes a unique contribution to the field of ethno music, ethnomusicology, and vocal music. Acclaimed leading scholar and performer of Korean Art Song, Drs. Kyoung Cho and Won Cho will present a lecture-recital and with Dr. Eun-Hee Park featuring Korean Art Songs and Folks Songs of historic and artistic significance with an overview of Korean history, culture, and music.
