University of Alabama Director of Athletics, Bill Battle, will headline the Fourth Annual Corporate Luncheon Thursday, April 7th at The Club from 11:30 – 1:00.  Coach Battle, who has enjoyed success on and off the football field and is in his third year leading the Bama Athletics Department, will be discussing “Steps To Success,” as well as volunteerism and assisting the less fortunate.

The Firehouse Shelter serves more homeless men than any other agency in the state, and each evening, over 200 men sleep in a Firehouse sponsored bed, whether at its Emergency Shelter, transitional housing complexes or other facilities around the Birmingham area.  In addition, Firehouse Ministries provides individual case management, counseling, employment readiness workshops, literacy tutoring, on-site legal assistance and life-skills training to each man if he chooses.

“Our agency, like many others, is reliant on a strong partnership between the City, the private sector, the faith based community, and individual citizens who are dedicated to making Birmingham a better place for all who reside here,” says Anne Wright, Executive Director of The Firehouse Shelter.  “We are excited and grateful Coach Bill Battle is investing his time to make a difference in his hometown by recognizing the critical role The Firehouse plays in the many lives it serves.”
