Proceeds from Pointe Ball, the organization’s largest special event fundraiser, make extensive education and scholarship programs possible.
The Alabama Ballet’s signature black tie gala will be held Saturday, February 8, 2020 at The Club, Birmingham, Alabama. The theme for this year is “formal fifties” and Blue Suede Shoes, a full-length ballet set to 36 master recordings of Elvis Presley music that combines classical ballet with classic rock. The Alabama Ballet performed this production October 4-6 at the BJCC Concert Hall. A selection from Blue Suede Shoes will be performed the evening of the Pointe Ball.
This year’s gala will commemorate Scott and Cameron Vowell.
Many thanks to our 2020 Corporate Chair, Mr. Jeremy Retherford and our 2020 Gala Committee Chairs, Mary Bradley Anderson and Lauren Pearson.
The event begins with an intimate performance by Alabama Ballet’s professional company members in the Ball Room of The Club. Following the performance, guests along with Artistic Director, Tracey Alvey, the Alabama Ballet Staff and members from the company will enjoy a gourmet dinner with the amazing night views of Birmingham. After dinner, guests will enjoy dessert and dancing with music provided by Celebrity All Star Band.
