Re:Memory (an art experiment in a community laboratory)

Presented by The Edge of Chaos and University of Alabama at Birmingham at Homewood Public Library

Have you ever wondered why playing the piano can survive 60 years when faces can fade so easily? Our project explores the psychological and neurobiological processes of memory storage and recall.

re:Memory engages local professionals and laymen to develop innovative techniques in performance, community outreach, and scientific inquiry to answer one question:
How do you remember?

Join us for Discoveries in the Making for ongoing neuroscience research from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, local artwork exploring memory, and the culmination of our Birmingham-based experiment: local musicians, dancers, artists, and scientists portraying memories in a performance that externalizes the stories of the mind and processes of the brain.
