The Friends of the Hoover Public Library are enthusiastic library partners and provide money, advocacy and support for all the library offers. This year, they are sponsoring the Book It! 5K for the Hoover Library as the formal kick off for this year’s Summer Reading program.

The race will be held on the cross country course at Veterans Park in Hoover, Alabama and will be digitally timed. Following the race and award presentations by Hoover High’s Coach Devon Hind, the Summer Reading fun continues with games, inflatables and the BMX Trickstars!

This is truly a day for the whole family.

Registration is required. Your early registration guarantees a great race t-shirt and there’s even a sleep in option!

Here are the quick details on the Friends fundraising event:
Date: Saturday, May 21, 2016
Time: 8 am — Race; 9:30 am — awards; 10 am — Summer Reading fun continues
Where: Veterans Park located at 4800 Valleydale Road, adjacent to Spain Park High School

Registration costs/deadlines:

Early Bird (through April 23): age 14 and under $15; age 15 and up $25
Late Registration (April 24 – May 20): age 14 and under $20; age 15 and up $30
Day of Race (May 21): age 14 and under $25; age 15 and up $35
Sleep in option: all ages $20 (register by April 23 to guarantee your t-shirt)
