The UAB Wind Symphony is comprised of the finest wind and percussion students from inside and outside the Department of Music. The literature played by the UAB Wind Symphony reflects a great variety and high level of musicianship. The UAB Symphony Band was formed in 2006 to accommodate the growth in musicianship of the UAB Bands’ students. This group contains both music majors as well as non-music majors who simply love the act of creating music in the wind band setting. Emphasis is placed on developing outstanding tone quality, solid intonation, technical proficiency, and ensemble musicality.
