4th ANNUAL CAHABA RIVER SHRIMP BOIL TO BENEFIT HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE STUDENT-ATHLETE FOUNDATION AND TRUSSVILLE CITY SCHOOLS FOUNDATION SET FOR APRIL 30, 2016 FROM 4:00 – 9:30 PM IN TRUSSVILLE SPRINGS

Trussville, AL – Now in its fourth year, the Cahaba River Shrimp Boil is officially a traditional outdoor food and music festival allowing everyone in Trussville and the surrounding area to spend time outdoors with family and friends. On April 30, 2016 from 4:00 until 9:30pm Trussville Springs on Highway 11 in the heart of Trussville will be filled with food, live music and a free kids’ activity area.
Admission to the festival is free.

The music will be provided by some local favorites like Reunion Country and Southern Rock Band, up and coming star Jackson Capps fresh off his sold out Work Play concert and Cahaba River Shrimp Boil staples sideCar and II Da Maxx. Also DJ Austin Jones will be featured.

“The Cahaba River Shrimp Boil committee is ready to bring the best event yet. Last year’s rainy week leading up to the event didn’t prevent us from having a great time and the crew is determined more than ever to provide Trussville and the surrounding communities with a great outdoor food and music festival. You just can’t beat being outside, listening to great music and the smell of shrimp boiling and barbecue. Then, off in the free kids’ zone you have the sound of laughter. It’s a great time and place to be with friends and neighbors,” said Cahaba River Shrimp Boil Chairman Chris Horn.

“Gulf shrimp plates prepared in a low country boil as well as plenty of cold beverages will be available for purchase. Barbecue will be more heavily featured this year with an award winning barbecue team making the preparations. We will also have hamburgers and hotdogs.”

The free kids’ activity area will include backyard games like cornhole and face painting.
The Cahaba River Shrimp Boil is a fundraising event equally benefitting Hewitt-Trussville Student-Athlete Foundation and Trussville City Schools Foundation. Despite the rainy week preceding last year’s event, $14,000 was raised.
